Project Second Harvest

July 1, 2010
We Indians love social gatherings and we throw all kind of parties, all the time. We love a party but we hate cleaning chores.

We also feel guilty when we throw away food because we have seen poverty back home and have seen how poor children go hungry. There is hunger in this country too. To solve these two problems, to reduce cleaning chores and to remove guilty conscience, we are initiating a new project, called a “Second Harvest”.

For this project, we will collect leftover food. Those who are throwing a party can save it safely overnight and call us. We will pick it up next morning and deliver to Salvation Army, Jimmie Hale mission or other institutions who are serving homeless people. We are starting out with Birmingham area. You may call any one of us:

  • Chiman Delwadia: 205-822-2503
  • Janak Doshi: 205-979-0077
  • Amit Chudgar: 205-663-6990

Remember this simple act of kindness will cost you nothing. Service to Humanity is Service to God. Thank you!
