US eases visa application norms for Indians
Please review this information for the requirements of nonimmigrant visa interview waiver for applicants above 80 years / children under 7 years of age applied at any U.S Consular office in India (Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad or Kolkata)
Applicant above 80 years / Children under 7 years of age from the date of submission at VFS are not required to appear for a nonimmigrant visa interview at any Post in India. Such applicants may submit their visa applications through VFS. All other rules, requirements and fees for those above 80 years / under 7 years of age remain in effect.
Please print a copy of the page at the link and submit it with the following documents to the nearest VFS U.S Visa Application Centre, located under the respective Embassy or Consulate where you intend to apply. For address and submission timings please refer to http://www.vfs-usa.co.in
1. The applicant's valid passport.
2. A completed DS-160 application barcode
3. 1 Photograph with white background (2 x 2 inches (51 x 51 mm) in size. Specifications available on the VFS website.
4. An HDFC visa fee receipt (with both copies) for the current visa application fee. Receipt activation takes up to 2 working days
from the day of payment at HDFC bank.
5. Valid visa copy of the same visa category of either of the parents in which the child is applying (applicable for child under 7 years of age)
Note: Parents having the appointment scheduled together with the child under 7 years of age should submit the required above documents
during the time of their Interview at Embassy/Consulate. Visa issuance for those not appearing in person is not guaranteed. The
Embassy /Consulate may in some cases, after reviewing an application, require the child to appear in person.
