House Republican Conference to Host Indian-American Meetup on November 19

Washington, DC – House Republican Conference Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) and House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Ed Royce (R-CA) will join other House Republicans to host an Indian-American Meetup on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 in the U.S. Capitol.

Press will be invited to attend the main event, which will include remarks from Members of Congress and prominent Indian-American leaders. Chairwoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers: “House Republicans are excited for an opportunity to engage in a productive dialogue about the issues most important to the Indian-American community. There is a need to have a two-way conversation on issues that impact our daily lives such as jobs and the economy, small business, education, national debt and foreign affairs. The Indian-American Meetup is a unique opportunity for us to hear the ideas and concerns from Indian Americans across the nation. This is an event where House Republicans can continue the discussion of our conservative message of a better tomorrow rich in jobs, economic stability and greater opportunity.”
WHAT: The Indian-American Meetup represents part of an ongoing series of Meetups sponsored by the House Republican Conference. The series is designed to welcome different constituencies to Capitol Hill to engage in open dialogues with Members of Congress. The Indian-American Meetup will begin with a plenary session with remarks from House Republican Leadership, Chairmen, Members of Congress and prominent Indian-American leaders from across the country. Following the plenary session attendees will participate in roundtable discussions focusing on jobs, small business, millennials, national debt, education and foreign affairs.
