Harish Parvathaneni assumes charge as Consul General of India, Houston
Mr. Harish Parvathaneni assumed charge as the Consul General of India, Houston on July 30.
Mr. Harish joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1990. He has served in Indian Mission in Cairo and Riyadh and headed the post as Indian Representative to the Palestinian Authority stationed in Gaza city. He was on deputation to the UN relief and works agency UNRWA as the chief of the policy analysis unit in Gaza.
He thereafter worked in the East Asia and External Affairs. Since 2007, he had worked as the Joint Secretary and Officer on Special Duty to the Vice President of India Mr. Hamid Ansari.
Mr. Harish graduated from Osmania University, Hyderabad with a Mechanical Engineering degree.
His predecessor Mr. Sanjiv Aroroa has taken the office of Indian Ambassador to Qatar.
