NRI in US to be paid Rs. 1 lakh as damages by British Airways, American Airlines
New Delhi -- A district consumer forum has ordered British Airways and American Airlines to pay Rs.1 lakh in damages to a US NRI because his luggage was inordinately delayed during his trip to Calicut Kerala in 2006.
Dr Manoj Kumar of New York was inconvenienced, as a result of which the district consumer head ordered the two airlines to pay damages. Dr. Kumar was delivered his luggage when he was to return to New York after his 12-day trip to Calicut.
