Chandni In Hawaii
By Chandni P. I went to the Big Island in Hawaii. This island has a live volcano. I learned the story of the state fish of Hawaii.
A pig was close to a volcano when it erupted. The pig tried to run to the sea before the lava could kill it. The pig and the lava made it to the sea at the same time. The pig was transformed into a fish and survived the hot water. The fish was then named humuhumunukunukuapua.
Then, we went to the island of Oahu. I learned about Pearl Harbor. Japan attacked Pearl Harbor and destroyed a lot of our battle ships. Japan wanted to control Hawaii but they lost. We visited the Arizona memorial. I had fun on my trip to Hawaii and I learned a lot.
