Birmingham celebrates India Day at Pepper Place Market

For the first time, the Indian community in Birmingham celebrated India Day at Pepper Place Market giving local crowd a window into the Indian culture and cuisine.
Indian Music and the gathering crowd got the event going and kept drawing the crowd as the day progressed.
The little participants gave outstanding performances despite 100 degrees plus temperatures. Taj India did cooking demonstrations and generously fed a very appreciative crowd for two hours straight. Henna as usual was a popular attraction.
The event was initiated by Sanjay Singh and was put together with the help from Ms. Cathy Crenshaw.
Nanda Sane had coordinated with the local artists for entertainment. Jeet Radia took responsibility for stage coordination and sound system.
Hundreds of people showed up for the event. The highlight of the event was when they thought that they were cast members in the famous Jai Ho song of the movie Slumdog Millionaire!
