Delhi youth, 2 other Indians in MIT list of world’s top innovators

A young Indian-origin aerospace engineer from the US stumbled upon rural India for the first time in his life. He was so taken up by it, he decided to stay.

Rikin Gandhi, 29, CEO of Delhi-based Digital Green, is one of the three of Indian-origin people who made it to the annual list of young innovators published by the Technological Review magazine. The magazine is put out by an independent company owned by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The list, called TR35, is a collection of the top 35 innovators under the age of 35 in a particular year.

NEW YORK (CBS) Little-known British actress Archie Panjabi is waving the UK banner high after her big Emmy win Sunday night in Los Angeles..

The 38-year-old won an Emmy for outstanding supporting actress in a drama series for her role in the CBS series “The Good Wife.”

US matches Indian outsourcing costs

Some outsourcing jobs are becoming as cheap to fill in the US as they are in India, according to the head of the country’s largest business process outsourcing company.


High unemployment levels have driven down wages for some low-skilled outsourcing services in some parts of the US, particularly among the Hispanic population.

Welfare fund to help overseas Indians in difficulty

New Delhi In a bid to provide urgent assistance to stranded and destitute Indians, Government has set up a fund in its missions in 42 countries which will extend help by providing air ticket, medical services and food.

The ‘Indian Community Welfare Fund’ has been set up by the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs to provide necessary “on-site” welfare services to Indians in difficulty.

A computer scientist claims to have solved one of the world’s most complex and intractable mathematical problems by proving that P≠NP.

“Vinay Deolalikar, who works at the research arm of Hewlett-Packard in Palo Alto, California, believes he has solved the riddle of P vs NP in a move that could transform mankind’s use of computers as well as earn him a $1m prize.

P vs NP is one of the seven millennium problems set out by the Massachusetts-based Clay Mathematical Institute as being the “most difficult” to solve.
