Sushil Bhavnani, Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Samuel Ginn College of Engineering has received The Gerald and Emily Leischuck Endowed Presidential Award for Excellence in Teaching.
A winner of at least eight Auburn University awards for outstanding teaching, Sushil H. Bhavnani received his doctorate at Iowa State in 1987.

Indian Ambassador Visits Alabama For The First Time

Ambassador of India Honorable Ms. Meera Shankar was the guest of honor at the dinner hosted by Alabama India Business Partnerships in Huntsville, Alabama on November 16.
The event was hosted at Davidson Center for Space Exploration by Alabama India Business Partnerships (AIBP). Guests were welcomed by the President of AIBP Dr. Ashok Singhal, Mayor of Huntsville Tommy Battle, Director of ADO Neal Wade, and President & CEO USSRC Larry Capps and Ethan Hadley.

In ICA’s fifteen years from a small student organization to what is now one of the largest organizations on campus, ICA has been involved with the UAB community by involving our members to participate in volunteer activities and different aspects of campus life.

Annusha weds Errol
On August 1, 2009 Annusha Srivastava and Errol D’souza tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony at Marriott on Grandview Parkway, Birmingham, AL.
Errol is the son of Dr.Marshall and Mrs.Precilla D’souza of Florida and Annusha is the daughter of Dr. Om and Mrs. Kiran Srivastava of Birmingham, AL. The ceremony was attended by over 350 relatives and friends.

Madison
Top 100 rank: 49 Population: 38,300 Madison's economy has remained stronger than many, thanks to such large employers as Boeing and NASA. Indeed, a tech boom has made this one of Alabama's fastest-growing towns. But consumer retail in the area hasn't kept up.
