Mujumdar named to the Board of Advisors at Birmingham Southern College

ANIL A. MUJUMDAR is an attorney with Haskell Slaughter Young & Rediker LLC and has been named to the Edward Lee Norton Board of Advisors at Birmingham Southern College.
Anil Mujumdar’s primary focus is on white-collar criminal defense and related matters, including governmental and internal investigations. His experience includes the representation of clients subject to investigation and prosecution in connection with public corruption charges, environmental crimes, banking fraud and healthcare fraud, among others. He also has extensive experience in complex civil litigation, including class actions, shareholder derivative suits, labor and employment matters and qui tam litigation.
Mr. Mujumdar joined Haskell Slaughter in 2008 after practicing for several years with a Birmingham litigation firm. He began his legal career as a public interest lawyer with the Alabama Disabilities Advocacy Program, a disability rights clinic of the University of Alabama School of Law, where he represented adults with psychiatric disabilities, children with complex physical disabilities, and persons living with HIV/AIDS.
In addition to his practice, Mr. Mujumdar is active in a variety of civic and community organizations and bar activities. He has served as president of the American Civil Liberties Union of Alabama since 2006, and as a member of its Board of Directors since 2004. He is also secretary of the Board of Directors of AIDS Alabama and a member of the Board of Directors of the Birmingham-Southern College Alumni Association. Mr. Mujumdar is chair of the Criminal Justice Committee of the North American South Asian Bar Association, and serves as a member of the Alabama State Bar Volunteer Lawyers’ Program Committee and of the executive committees of the Birmingham Bar Association Young Lawyers Section and the Magic City Democrats. He also teaches business law as an adjunct professor at Stillman College.
